National Association of Round Tables - Armed Forces Offer

To celebrate Armed Forces Day on June 24th,  National Association of Round Tables Great Britain and Ireland, a voluntary group for men aged 18-45, are offering all current and ex-serving Armed Forces men the chance to receive a free Gourmet Society card, worth £69.99, for free!
As part of Round Table’s dedication to the Armed Forces Covenant, current and ex-serving members of the Armed Forces receive 6 months free membership. This Armed Forces Day, Round Table will be adding Gourmet Society card to the offer for those who join the voluntary Association in the next two months.

Easy Resettlement Magazine - Summer 17 Issue

The summer issue of Easy Resettlement magazine is out now...
Easy Resettlement is now the number one armed forces resettlement publication as we offer more employment opportunities for our readers than any other publication. Each issue is distributed to all service leavers by BFPO to ensure everyone gets a free copy. In addition to the hard copies it is sent out via an Email blast to our subscribers as well as having an easy to read online version on our website, you can even download back issues to your desktop
We are proud to announce our partnership with DSEI who run the largest Defence and Security Expo in Europe, the event is free for military personnel and it will be taking place between the 12th-15th September at the Excel arena in London. You will be able to pick up free copies of the summer issue at this event.

We are especially proud to announce some new partnerships with companies who will be offering employment opportunities to our readers through our magazine. These are a welcome addition to those already recruiting our readers such as The East of England Ambulance Service, Maritime Transport and KLM UK Engineering. Each issue we include a Franchising for Veterans feature with the BFA giving some valuable insights in to what makes a good franchise, some great franchises that have already recruited veterans and service leavers include Action Coach, Chips Away, Gas Elec and Snap on Tools.

Interruption to water supplies in SFA (Heath Avenue) at DMS(W)

Kelda water will be replacing some fire hydrants in Heath Avenue on Fri 23 Jun.  The water supply for 1 to 23 Heath Road will be shut off between 0900 -1400. Please ensure that you store enough water to see you through this period especially with the current weather conditions.

The Royal Navy will take the lead at the event this year. 
The event will begin with a Drumhead Service with regiments of the Armed Forces attending. There will be a number of charity stalls from organisations such as War Widows, Help for Heroes, Royal British Legion and Fisher House. There will be displays and activities provided by the three Armed Forces, stage programme, children’s entertainment and food and drink.

Staffordshire Regiment Museum - Unveiling of WWII Public Air Raid Shelter - 18th July

On Sunday 18th July Staffordshire Regiment Museum, will be officially unveiling their WWII public Air Raid Shelter.   

As it is the EXACT Battle of Waterloo anniversary  (Sunday 18th June 1815), they have an assortment of Napoleonic soldiers and civilians on site and musket firing demo’s. Plus VIP speaker ‘Monty’.

Event time is 1000 – 1600 and admission is free.

CarillionAmey - Requesting Furniture Information

You can choose whether you want furnished, part furnished, or unfurnished SFA, this also applies to those families who are allocated Substitute Service Family Accommodation (SSFA). Your accommodation charge will be adjusted accordingly.

If you do need furniture, you should make this clear when you are completing the MOD Form e1132 at the initial stage of opting for your preferred choice of accommodation. There is a separate section within the e1132 where you can specify what furniture and items you require. These will be supplied to your SFA ready for your Move in appointment.

Outdoor Cinema at the NMA - Dirty Dancing 15th July

Following on from the successes of the outdoor cinema the NMA are again holding 2 nights of outdoor cinema in July of this year.

On the evening of Saturday 15th July they are showcasing Dirty Dancing and on Sunday 16th July they are showcasing Hacksaw Ridge.

There is a military discount code as part of the offer and  the code discounts the ticket to £10.00 (excluding the booking fee) from £13.50.

Local veterans associations such as Royal British Legion, Help for Heroes and War Widows Association will have stalls at the event, there will be displays and activities from the Armed Forces, plus music and street food outlets. At 12noon there will be a Drumhead Service where the Army, Navy and RAF regiments will march alongside the veterans associations for a service and prayers. The afternoon will be brought to a close at 3.30pm with a Beat the Retreat.
